New Orleans: Like every one else in the world our
hearts broke when Katrina devastated the Big Easy. I have a brother
who lives on the Mississippi Coast, he evacuated just in time. We all
know New Orleans can use our tourism dollars but are they ready for
us? In May, we are taking our fourth trip to The Big Easy but the first
since Katrina's devastation. We have many fond memories of New Orleans
- to a large extent we are going to see if our favorite restaurants
and places to shop survived. Our contribution to supporting tourism
for the recovery of the New Orleans area has to be realistic.
Besides, if tourism returns too soon we will cause more trouble than
it's worth. Check out our June 2006 e-zine
and we will give you first hand information if or when the Big Easy
is ready for those who want to travel like a rock star.
San Francisco: Tim & Shelley are taking our fifth
trip to San Francisco in the last two years. We just love the fresh
seafood on Fisherman's Wharf, wandering around Chinatown, the wonderful
little bistros and wine tasting as we drive through Napa Valley. Shopping
in Haight Ashbury or Union Square and of course strolling down Lombard
Street (come on, nobody strolls UP Lombard Street) - chic to campy,
the city by the bay has it all. This is also a Birthday Trip for Shelley's
Mother, as she has never seen the Golden Gate Bridge. Our June 2006
e-zine is going to be one
you should not miss with two very special features. Great tips on how
to travel like a rock star with your parents in tow and some very special
things to share with your partner when taking in San Francisco, the
best city destination on the West Coast.
